Grassroots (Recreational) Director

The A3 Grassroots Director works directly with the A3 Directors for the planning and execution of the Futures & County programs during the fall and spring seasons. The coordinator should have experience with the program before being considered to fill the role. The ideal candidate has a passion for connecting others in a positive and engaging environment, while working on a team to deliver a service to the local community.

Objectives

  • Responsible for the Futures program (age groups U4-U8), roughly 20-30 teams
  • Responsible for inventory, ordering, and distribution of jerseys, shorts, and socks
  • Identify volunteer coaches through recruitment and proactive communication
  • Build teams of players by utilizing software to sift through individual requests and org needs
  • Set game schedules for coaches and teams (Futures only)
  • Hold pre-season meeting with all coaches to dispense equipment, go over seasonal objectives, and cover logistics
  • Daily operations of clinic (cancellation of practices and postponement/rescheduling of games)
  • Work with Executive Director to confirm Staff Coaches for Fall U6/U7 age groups on Friday nights and Saturday mornings
  • Responsible for the county program (age groups U9-U19)
  • Confirm payments made to appropriate organizations before season starts
  • Work with the A3 Directors to identify coaches, build teams, and set practice schedules.
  • Build Teams and include coaches contact information in AAYSA registration (with help of GM)
  • Ensure team rosters and player contracts are completed.
  • Attend County Soccer league (AAYSA) meetings
  • Consult playability of game fields and coordinate field closings with county and clinic coordinator
  • Handout/distribute Team Equipment Bags to Coaches
  • Participate in a Preseason coaches meeting
  • Serve as point of contact for coaches and parents, within reason

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous coaching experience is preferred
  • Previous youth soccer program oversight is preferred
  • High School Education
  • Minimum 18 years old and able to pass Anne Arundel County background check
  • Eligible to work in the US

Preferred Skills and Qualities

  • Positive, high-energy individuals who love working with kids and playing soccer
  • Strong leadership skills, able to run a class independently
  • Knowledge about soccer
  • Passion for positively impacting youth players (loving soccer is a bonus!)

Futures & Jr. Academy Trainer

We are looking for someone who has the energy and motivation to work with little kids.  The seasonal trainer will be responsible for the coaching of A3 soccer clinics for youth ages 3-7. The seasonal trainer will lead and teach classes based on a set curriculum, which focuses on fun, challenging activities and character development, under the guidance of the A3 Program Managers.

Objectives

  • Working with A3 Program Managers to plan and implement curriculum.
  • Safely manage classes ages range from 3-7.
  • Working with A3 Program Managers to organize and lead age-appropriate drills, games and activities, explaining the rules.
  • Arrive on-time to your locations and provide a positive customer experience to faculty and parents. Maintaining and ensuring proper use of facilities and equipment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous coaching experience is preferred, but no set qualification minimum
  • High School Education
  • Minimum 18 years old and able to pass Anne Arundel County background check

Futsal Manager

The A3 Futsal Manager is a new position and will be instrumental in furthering A3 Soccer’s player development approach. This position will contribute to the design of a project plan for the implementation of futsal programs at the local club, recreational, and adult level.  The Futsal Program Manager will be responsible for executing and monitoring the development of this plan and provide futsal education opportunities for players and coaches. This position requires an enthusiastic, outgoing individual with a passion for organizing events, setting up programs, and with an extensive background in soccer and futsal.  The Futsal Program Manager must be self-motivated, result oriented, creative, and able to problem solve.

Objectives

  • Manage and own Futsal program goals and measures
  • Design project plans for the following programs:
    • Competitive ID Teams
    • Futsal Camp
    • Adult Futsal League
    • Youth Futsal League
  • Promote, market, and secure teams for youth and adult leagues
  • Serve as main point of contact for all A3 futsal related events/programs
  • Execute project plans as written with ability to adapt as necessary
  • Recruit, develop, and oversee a team of Futsal staffers to include coaches and trainers
  • Maintain relationship with facilities by being responsible and accountable for the care of facility
  • Establish and implement of Futsal/Soccer training systems, goals, policies, objectives, procedures, and practice curriculum; development, and coordination
  • Run Futsal/Soccer clinics, training programs, workshops, educational programs, seminars, preseason meetings, practices, Assist in conducting school outreach programs; presentation
  • Act as a liaison and maintain lines of communication between A3 Board of Directors, Executive Director, Director of Premier Operations, Club Administrator, staff, members, referees, parents, school administrators, and private sector personnel;

Qualifications

  • Possess a strong knowledge of the rules of Futsal/Soccer;
  • Possess substantial Futsal/Soccer playing and/or coaching experience
  • Require effective communication, organizational, and dispute resolution skills, especially with children, and maintain a flexible schedule; professional and/or international playing/coaching experience is a plus.
